Visual Studio 2008 and BizTalk

Image
W ell my vacation is almost over and ready to start the New Year with some interesting projects. In my previous post I mentioned Visual Studio 2008, which will have my attention this year. Why, because I moving around a lot in BizTalk, Integration and SOA. Visual Studio plays an important role in developing orchestrations. It delivers templates for orchestrations, mapping, pipelines and schema’s. One can also program custom pipelines, adapters and logic to be applied inside an orchestration or business rule engine. So it is a very flexible tool and valuable in creating BizTalk solutions. Although BizTalk Server 2006 and Visual Studio 2008 are not ready to use together; it will be possible in the future with the next release of BizTalk or sooner if Microsoft finds a way to allow the install routine to target the new version of Visual Studio. Another reason to start with Visual Studio is it will be a lot of new stuff like JavaScript IntelliSense, type interface and debugging, nested mas...

YEAR 2008

Well in some places now in the world it is New Year. Year 2008; what will it bring us? For starters Visual Studio 2008, it’s already out there and I have seen a couple of books already about VS 2008. I have bought a couple of eBooks at APRESS to have some new reading material and something to learn. Next is BizTalk 2006 R2 for me. A couple of customers will migrate to this new version of BizTalk or start new projects, where BizTalk 2006 R2 will be used. Third and last will be .NET 3.0 technologies like WCF, WF. Hopefully I will be doing a project, where these new technologies will be used. I also will have a peek at .NET 3.5. I wish everybody a happy new year. Technorati: VS 2008 .NET

Creating WCF Services Experience

I have started with my study of Windows Communication Foundation. As you can read in my previous post I have decided to learn it myself. There are possibilities of learning it form recommended training and consulting companies like IDesign , Developmentor , Wintellect , newtellingence , thinktecture or Pluralsight . I kicked off with a book called learning WCF written by Michele Leroux Bustamante, who also has a blog called thatindigo girl. WCF makes it possible to build secure, reliable, and transacted systems through a simplified programming model that unifies and extends many of the previous .NET technologies including ASMX, WSE, .NET Remoting, .NET Enterprise Services, and System.Messaging. And this just what I want to learn one technology that can do all stuff that ASMX, WSE, etcetera does. It has focus on service orientation and supports for standardized Web Services specifications. Ok I first lab I did was creating a service contract with a simple operation and implemented it ...
