Coming months I will be attending and speaking at the following events: I'll be attending a one-day event hosted by the UK Connected Systems Group : The Hybrid Organization .This event focuses on hybrid integration strategies using Windows Azure and the Microsoft platform. I will be speaking at a two-day event hosted by Bouvet : BizTalk Innovation Day 2013 . This event will be targeted for professionals interested in BizTalk on several different levels, developers, administrators and architects. I will also be speaking at a one-day event hosted by Microsoft Italy and various sponsors : BizTalk Innovation Day 2013 Italy . At both Innovation Day events I will do session on BizTalk Server 2013 and the Windows Azure Service Bus: Hybrid Solutions. Article in Software Release Magazine ( SRM ) ‘Cloud Computing with Windows Azure’ is out. Anko Duizer and I have written an the article about Windows Azure, SQL Services, .NET and Live Services that has some overlap to David Chappell whitepaper ‘Introducing the Azure Services Platform’.  It was fun writing the article and I am happy it is out now and the 7th article published so far in different Dutch IT magazine’s last year and a half. Microsoft has released an updated training kit for Windows Azure Services. The Azure Services Training Kit includes a comprehensive set of technical content including hands-on labs, presentations, and demos that are designed to help you learn how to use the Azure Services Platform. The February release includes the following updates: 19 demo scripts that walkthrough several of the services 10 presentations covering the entire Azure Services Platform 3 additional hands-on labs for Live Services This technical content covers services including: Windows Azure, .NET Services, SQL Services, and Live Services. David Chappell did a talk about Windows Azure Services Platform today at Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) in Barneveld (not according to his schedule ). In stead of travelling thousands of miles in a plane to see/hear him talk, I now could step into my car drive a couple of miles (I live in Ede, which is nearby). His talk is centered around Azure Service Platform whitepaper he wrote recently and held for LEAP alumni, ones attending LEAP before and ones attending it now led by Serge van Schie from Microsoft. I ran into an old colleague Christian Siegers ; we both used to work for Atos Origin and he is a very good BizTalk pro. At PDC I bought this book called 'Cloud Computing Web-based Applications That Change the Way You Work and Collaborate Online'. I read two chapters before I went to the first keynote on monday. Concept of cloud computing Ray Ozzie explained just really falls in place with content in first two chapters. This book is focused on 'Cloud Computing' in general looking at Microsoft, Amazons and Google's efforts. Azure is mentioned in here. I do thing that Microsoft is taking Cloud Computing futher that Amazon with it's elastic computing or Google's services. Azure is going to be more open and flexible to the community of users on one end and developers on the other.
