As you can see in the slide .NET (WCF), BizTalk Server play a important role in pattern of Dynamic Routing. Next session by Burley Kawazaki was high level overview of BPM, how slow adoption to it is today and how approach could be to enhance adoption and apply by using Visio, SharePoint Designer, BizTalk Server 2009 and MOSS (Dashboard, Performance Point Server). Basically it was a sales pitch to show Microsoft has a complete stack of technology ...

SOA & BPM Conference Keynote

Image
Conference has started. It was kicked off by Eddie Amos. Even though there is a financial crisis going on and conference has been made condensed to 2 days :( there are: 400 attendees 25 countries 25 breakout sessions The it started of with Steve Martin debunking the myths around SOA. Is dead or alive? A lot of hype around it being alive or dead (see Anne Thomas Manes ). Here are some myths: Does SOA stops at Firewall? No it begins at the firewall. SOA Aligns the Business and IT... No, it is about the how to implement SOA. Alignment between IT and Business is done through people not technology (how). SOA Goverance fixes everthing... No it needs to expands all of IT not just SOA (true). Corny one SOA will teach children learn to read (haha). So judging from Steve Martin's talk SOA is alive; we are just at the beginning!!! Microsoft will be bring technology to get us there: WCF, WF, IIS/Dublin, Windows Azure Services Platform. Microso...

Yesterday I attended BTUG Meeting at ATOS Origin Utrecht. At end of this meeting some announcements were made about next BizTalk Server Release and that next SOA & BPM Conference will be held not this year, but January 2009. Exact dates were mentioned as well 26-29 of January. Fact that it will not be held end of this year is probably due to PDC 08, where some BizTalk related things will be announced like OSLO. Venue will be same at Microsoft campus in Redmond. Technorati: Microsoft SOA and BPM Conference

Dutch Microsoft SOA and Business Process Conference 2008

Image
Before I start my post about the annual dutch Microsoft SOA and BPM Conference in Groenekan near Utrecht I attended today I would like to announce that I have I have recently joined Getronics PinkRoccade for a role as technical consultant in technologies like BizTalk Server, Integration and Messaging. After working two years for Inter Access I thought it was time for a new step in my career. Participating in a company wide expert group and doing projects for customers seems to me a new challenge to gain experience at customers and spread/share insights, knowledge and vision to colleagues. Could I or did I do this at Inter Access? Yes, but on a small scale and my role in technical management became marginal. Now I do act on a larger scale and work with large companies and share knowledge/expertise with a large population of IT professionals. That said back to the conference. The agenda was as follows: two keynotes one by Jeff Sampler and one by Dan Alling followed by two tracks a busin...
